Catapults in STEM and their historical use

A catapult, is a mechanism used to forcefully propelling stones, spears, or other projectiles.we will examine certain functionalities according to principles from Physics, how is the projectile of the catapult measured according to mathematics principles and also how we can extract our experimental data during the subject of Informatic Technology in our classes.

Energy resources in the household

The aim of this Learning Scenario is to make students aware of how the knowledge they acquired in STEM subjects like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry is applied in everyday life. For this reason, in order to provide a concrete example, we examine the cost of energy consumption in students’ households, the impact of various energy sources on the environment and the processes through which a source of energy can be converted to another one.

The pollution and the Greenhouse effect

We are living in a very friendly planet which looks like paradise. We all know that in our solar system there are some planets and satellites situated almost at the same distance from the sun but on which life is impossible because of the climate conditions determined by their atmosphere and the greenhouse effect. In this STE(A)M integrated learning scenario we will bring greenhouse effect and climate change in the classroom using IBSE.

Light up future homes

About this STEM integrated learning scenario Communication is very important in any design process. Professional design teams and designers often need to pitch ideas to clients. Designers use a range of graphic techniques to communicate their ideas and constructional and technical considerations related to design solutions. Students will work as Read more…

More light, less lighting

This learning scenario aims to make students aware of the benefits of teamwork required in different learning contexts and in the process of acquiring knowledge, competences, skills, and experiences that are commonly applied in order to solve a real-life question.

Graphene – miraculous 21st Century Material

In this lesson, students will learn about the chemical and physical properties of graphene, and using ICT tools will draw a single layer of graphene which they will produce using the 3D printer. At the end of the lesson, they will be introduced to the ideas of using graphene in everyday life in the future (e.g. wearable flexible electronics that can be used in healthcare, security, sports, or fashion).
