Integrated teaching practices competitions for primary and secondary

Working with other teachers makes the lessons more interesting and connected to real-life to students and your work more meaningful. Teaching in an integrated way STEM or even STEM with any other subject reflects like more accurately (and shows we need to work together to obtain the greatest achievements).

Share your integrated teaching practices through the STE(A)M IT competitions for primary (competition 1: 4 – 12 years old) and secondary (competition 2: 13 – 18 years old). Three strands available:

Stream 1: Submit a new Learning Scenario on Integrated STEM Teaching using the STE(A)M IT Template;

Stream 2: Submit a new Learning Scenario on Integrated STEM Teaching using the STE(A)M IT Template tried out with students (i.e. submit your Learning Scenario and a Story of Implementation explaining how it went with your students);

Stream 3: Try out one of the 11 original STE(A)M IT Learning Scenarios in class and tell us how it went with a Story of Implementation.

Winning Learning Scenarios and Stories of Implementation will be included in the Scientix repository as well as STE(A)M IT portal. Winners will also be invited to join the STE(A)M IT Career Advisors Network.

Read the full instructions, terms and conditions of the STE(A)M IT Competitions for primary and secondary.

Join now: Organise the activity, pin it to the STEM Discovery Map and submit the career sheet (stream 1) and/or tell us about your activity (stream 2) to be one of the 10 teachers to join the STE(A)M IT Career Advisors Network.

    Hi Snježana Marković-Zoraja,

    We are happy to hear that you are interested in taking part in the STE(A)M IT Competitions 2021!

    You can find the link to the STEM Discovery Campaign map and the form to submit your entry in the “Terms and Conditions” of the competitions:
    https://files.eun.org/SciEduDept/SDC2021-STEAM-IT-Competitions-final.pdf

    Step 1: Pin the activity and submit the Learning Scenario to the 2021 STEM Discovery Campaign map of activities:
    http://www.scientix.eu/events/campaigns/sdc21#map

    When you fill in the form to submit your activity, you will be asked if you want to submit the activity to a competition. Select the right competition and the right stream:
    – STE(A)M IT Competitions 2021 – Stream 1: New STE(A)M IT Learning Scenarios
    – or STE(A)M IT Competitions 2021 – Stream 2: New STE(A)M IT Learning Scenarios tried in class
    – or STE(A)M IT Competitions 2021 – Stream 3: Using the STE(A)M IT Learning Scenarios with students

    Once you selected the competition, you will be prompted to provide a link to the Learning Scenario you are submitting for the competition from where it can be accessed.

    Step 2 (only for stream 2 & 3): if you submit your entry for stream 2 or 3: write a blog post (Story of Implementation) about how the implementation went, the number of students that participated, impressions from the different teachers, etc. on the 2021 STEM Discovery Campaign blog. At the end of Step 1, you will receive information on how to contribute to the blog.

    Should you like to participate in the STEM Alliance & STE(A)M IT – Professionals Go Back to School Competition, please read the Terms and Conditions to find more information.

Hello, good evening. I´m taking part in the STE(A)M IT Competitions 2021. I´m working on my LS and when “Lesson plan” section arrives I can read the following sentence (*) above the table. However, I don´t see the Annex 1 in my template. Should I fill it myself? Thank you so much
(*) “The implementation of integrated STEM teaching and learning is facilitated by the use of specific pedagogical approaches (PBL, IBL, etc). In order to facilitate the research done by the teachers and the design of activities by teachers, a selection of such approaches is presented in Annex 1. Maintaining Annex 1 in the Learning Scenario and citing where necessary is mandatory”

    Dear Isabel,

    Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.
    Please ignore the sentence above the table regarding annexe 1. In your annexe section, you only need to add the sources/materials your used/created for your lesson plan.

    Good luck with the competition!

Hello,
I sent the learning scenario for the STE(A)M IT Competitions 2021, Stream 2, but it is not on the activity map, nor did I receive an email that it was rejected. How can I find out if everything is okay?

      Hello,
      I’m sorry to bother you, but I still haven’t gotten an answer. It is very important to me to know if I have submitted the LS properly and if it is participating in the competition. Thank you.

Hello, good evening. I also sent the learning scenario for the STE(A)M IT Competitions 2021 (Stream 1), but it is not on the activity map, I received a confirmation mail with the subject “2021 STEM Discovery Campaign- Activity and action submission form” that summarized all what I sent. I´m quite sure that I also pin the activity, however, maybe I did something wrong as it´s not there. What can I do now?
Thank you

    Dear Isabel, it seems that the activity was showing in the wrong location because the city was not specified in the address. It should be fixed it now. 🙂
